Induction days for this kind of stuff are usually all-day affairs. Normally you go in around 9, start around 9.30, get a tea break at 11, lunch at 1 till 2, then go home around 4.30.

You get paid for the whole day. Generally places are tolerant towards you hobbies, provided you let them know which days you can and can't work.
