Vision: M Woes

A few weeks back, I recieved a Creative Zen Vision: M for my birthday, and was quite happy with it. Until a week later(to the day) when it fell out of my pocket onto a softwood floor, causing the screen to be completely obliterated. Despite the fact that it was a really quite a small drop that should not have caused the damage it did(even by the admission of the creative support representative), creative declared the warranty void and the shop refused to provide a replacement(I wanted to try that again, but someone went and lost the receipt which kind of ****ed me over). Seeing as creative want to charge €250 to repair it, I feel like I'm being anally raped in a fairly direct way. As such, I was wondering if anyone knew of anywhere else where I might get it repaired, prefferably somewhere that won't charge me the cost of a brand new player.
This is just an excedingly ****ty situation and any help or advice would be appreciated. Also, those owning/planning on purchasing a Vision: M; for the love of ****, invest in a protective case.

shieldzone.com does covers for the front of the player. There is a video on the site demonstrating it. Looks pretty cool.

The camera shop on dawson street sells sheets of clear protective film.

Cut it to size and stick it on the viewing area. It works great.

Well, seeing as noone seems able to help, I reckong I'll just buy a new one on ebay. Not only is it cheaper than getting it repaired, it also means I don't have to deal with the filthy greedhead pig****ers at creative and their ****ty ****ty customer service.
    Bah etc.
