the easiest way to fix this is to go to the permissions of of your Documents and Settings folder and give EVERYONE full control and also do this on your Program Files folder.

Office 2003 needs people to have full access to these 2 folders because it saves local data in both in relation to a user i.e. Outlook settings and such

Let us know how ya get on

    No bother.

    1) go into your c: drive right click on the Documents and Settings folder and select the properties on the bottom of the lis.

2)select the security tab on the the top of the box.

    3) then highlight the option for everyone it should turn blue.

4)when it is highlighted blue select allow full control in the menu under neet.
then press apply and ok when it is finished,

    5) repeat for the programfiles folder.

    Hey, try the following
go to start -> settings -> control panel -> Add\Remove programs -> click on MS office 2003 -> change -> add\remove features -> next -> put a tick in all the boxes and click next. This should then fully copy everything to the local computer and will not be looking for the 'file' that is not installed. You will prob need the cd while doin this.

You are assuming that the OP is using Windows 2000 / XP Professional
If you are using XP Home Edition the easist way to set permisions is to get this

If you still have a problem and none of the above worked try this

click start then on run and type in msiexec /unreg and press enter.

Then click start again then on run and type in msiexec /regserver and press enter.

If that doesn't stop it then try removing the install information for Office 2003 from the registry with this program, after doing so re-install Office 2003.
