So recently i installed a 300gb sata disk, along with a tv tuner which later broke leaving a pci slot open on my machine.. After a few days i noticed some clicking in the drives while i was transferring files.

I opened the case and checked the cables, disks etc. Everything ok so i boot back up and its fine. Tonight i hear it again and pass no remarks. Restart the machine and No Disks Found "Insert System Disk". So i open the case again......

Only to find a god dam mouse inside! It was sitting on the floppy drive above the hds chewing the cables.. It lept from the case and around my room. I pulled out bits of a cig box, some papers, and bar wrappers as a nest. Not only that but the stink of rat P*** and S*** all in the case..

Well all i have to say is he got what was coming to him when i let in the cat ;)

Anyone any idea how i can clean this without destroying anything?

Actually I've seen this before got asked to take a look at a PC in a water treatment plant the PC they used was acting up. We took it apart and found a dead mouse inside it had been chewing at the cables and got fried for chewing on the wrong one :)

Must have been drawn to the heat or something as it had been living inside the case still not sure to this day how it got in.

i Resent that remark, ok smart ass come here!! INdeed it is a pet or field mouse that doesnt change the fact that he was living inside my machine. Supposedly my comp heats to 52c must of being like a hotel for him. I didnt catch him the first time, i pulled out the whole room and couldn find him.

Later that night he climbed up my phone charger and i seen him, he lept and made a run for my case again but i had the ports blocked with a old shorts so i caught the rat for a min. I'd love to see you catch one of them there lie springs. I gave up trying to get him again and let the cat finish him off. SHould i let you see the guts on the floor or here even better, i live in tara crescent tullamore co offaly. Come see for yourself. IM as shocked as you are and to be hoonest i wouldnt beleieve it unless i seen it, But i DID!!!

Feel free to come have a whiff and sure take some s*** as a solvenier??

think i read somewhere recently that mice have no back bones so are able to squeeze and flatten themselves to get into tight gaps.

But looking at the average PC case I still can't think of a vent big enough even with that...

They really can squeeze into tight places

This is where he was behind all the cables at the front of the case away from the fans he had his nest.

He said he had a open pci-slot in the back, but as somebody else mentioned thats a pet mouse. It would not last a week in the wild.

so how the hell did it live in my machine the past god knows how long, yes my cousins have pet mice which do be downstairs the odd time. The fact that they got upstairs in my room when my door is always locked to protect equipment and crept in the back unnoticed and decided he liked the heat and made a nice nest. WHat should i do to clean the motherboard it is em sticky, im afraid that over time the heat will destroy it now

Thank you! Yeah rofl was fairly funny when you think about it. Well il know next time to block all slots not used could of being alot worse he could of being spinning round with the cpu fan beating of everything lol. Sorry i couldn't picture it better you dont prepare for these things.
