Why are the xbox's so cheap on ebay? They are pal and 220v. Is there something I am missing?

It's a dead console since the 360 came out. Nothing new is being released that is anyway interesting and the 360 plays most xbox games anyway.

There are still games being released just no first party titles. I can also guarantee you that the postage costs for the XBox will be massive. This is were you will get stung!!!!

If you can't afford one of the new consoles, it is a great time to buy one of the older ones. The machines are cheap enough and the games will start to drop soon. Also it could be worth just buying and old xbox just to mod it and run xbox
multimedia centre on it. It's a really cheap solution to having a media device that can stream from your pc. plus you don't need xp media centre for it to work either.

Because the guy is in China, will ask you to pay via WesternUnion and run with your money.
Did you look at the feedback? Looks like a chancer or somebody who's account was hijacked.
    Would't bid on it.

Fair enough, I'm still conviced it's a scam but if you decide to go for it, can you keep us posted as to how it goes?

Could you read any of the feedback? Also, it is only coming from sellers for items worth nothing.

I wouldn't buy anything of value off ebay without paying by paypal. If it costs me over €20 delivered I won't be interested unless with paypal. By the payment methods he's accepting you have no comeback if he takes your money and runs. Beware of this. His feedback is 100% but looks manufactured. Look at the feedback comments. BEWARE

if you want to give away your money fire ahead and buy from the chinese sellers. They infest ebay with loads and loads of these auctions and if they get one idiot to send money then its a success. If you see the chinese sellers selling 360's on ebay atm you'll see most of the ppl who bid for them so far are from the US :p

"PAYMENT BY CHEQUE, PO OR BANK TRANSFER ONLY"

Those words alone should steer you away from any auction. If you can't pay by paypal, don't do it, because if it's a scam you'll never see that money again.

That's a very big generalisation there. In the UK they say similar things about the irish :D . I've been using ebay for years now and have bought lots of items from chinese sellers without problems including a PSP,DS, cameras and phones.
I would say that you shouldn't judge an auction by the nationality of the seller but rather what is being listed, how it is worded and what the payment methods are. Avoid paying for anything expensive by cash, cheque or money transfer. With paypal you have some comeback if you get ripped off. There's no real reason for not accepting paypal these days and even if it is genuine, it is just pure laziness on the part of the seller.
And try to get some impression if the seller seems to be trying to get rid of it in a hurry (not always easy). Always check the feedback and also check what these items were as well. Check the way the item was listed. Did the seller take a photo of the item or is this a generic picture taken from another site? If the latter is true, is the seller selling\has sold more than one of these items? If not, why did they not take a photo of the one they have and put it on ebay. It's very easy to do
One thing to be aware of with items from china etc especially the one listed here is that you'll get get hit for import tax. And it will bring the total cost up a bit. Plus , check to see what version you are buying (european, japanese, US?).

well i dont mean all of them and i should have said that, but you know the ones who fill a whole page selling xbox360's or ipod videos for 100 euros.

and yes thats an empty box and someone has bid 60 euros so far!

poor aul winner isnt gonna be able to play with his recently purchased controller and fight night and kameo

he'll probably make a profit selling the box on to another poor sod

I have a golden rule when it comes to eBay, if the seller doesn't take PayPal, I don't bid, you're actually begging to be conned if you pay by cash/western union/cheque.
