Going from Dublin to Phuket from 15th July to 5th August.

Can anyone recommend a good place for cheap flights? The best price we've found so far is €1400.

Try to get a cheap flight to BKK, and then go on with AirAsia to Phuket.

I booked last month a flight for middle of June with Gulf Air directly, and that came to 560 Euro all incl. Pretty decent price I think. www.gulfairco.com

Another option would be to try the SIngapore Airlines office in Dublin. They always have some offers, but they are more likely around 700 Euro all inc (via Paris and Singapore), but worth every cent of it. A pleasure to fly, even in eceonomy.

If they have nothing available, then try trailfinders in Dawsons Street (01-6777888) for good prices.

Although I imagine middle of July could be difficult to get something cheap, as it is holiday season. In thailand itself it is low season.

Try Emirates.com, i have just done a search for flights for the dates you have given and got a result of around €850 euro. Although this is flying out from London, but sure flights to london are really cheap so you are looking at under €900 or so.... Not to bad of a deal :)

When i sent an email to enquire about flights, they replied to say for the discounted flights, your flight has to originate in Thailand. I suppose you could book two one way flights but that would prob work out more expensive.

I've left it really late to book flights. i'm planning to go in July and still nothing booked. phoned trailfinders and they were quoting 900 without insurance. i only paid 760 last year but did book well in advance.

anyone know anywhere that does cheap last minute flights?

I got mine with Malaysia Airlines for either €600 or €700, I just can't recall at the moment. They are known for good deals on their flights but they don't sell direct to customers so you have to go through a travel agency. I'd recommend Trailfinders as I found them to be the antiUSIT in general.

Also, for currency conversions, this is the only way to go.

    www.xe.com

Try Cara Travel on D'Olier Street, and I also think there's a trekking specialist next door who are au fait with best value long range travel.

Well worth the visit on the way to the SE ;)
