It'll change the colour of the ink its generally not too noticable, also the won't tattoo over moles.

The problem is that the colours can change through freckles, when you are tattoed you are actually looking at a layer of ink that is under a layer of skin, so basically you will have a freckly filter over the tattoo, there's nothing an artist can do to change that at all, it's your skins pigments.
Artists dont like it as a rule as it changes colours but any of them should take it on, just dont expect miracles as the canvas is not the best to work with.

It wont make a difference if you're getting a black tattoo, you can hardly notice the freckles. Whatever you do don't just go in and get one, go and see it and think about it for a week or two before getting it done that way you'll be sure you don't get one you're bored with after a year or two.
A mate of mine got a Tazmanian devil on his arm, it was out dated and stupid looking after a year or two, imagine trying to explain to your kids what who Taz was, mad.

So what you actually mean is that it wont make much of a difference as it is not very noticeable as long as it's a black tattoo?

I saw a photo on one of the tattoo critique forums recently that was done on freckles, and the tattoo looked muddy and not nice, the comment from artists on the forum was "oh yeah I hate working with that type of skin too". If it wasn't membership only I could post a link.

I think most of them could, just be aware that the results are influenced by your skin and not just the skill of the artist and there are certain things the artist cant influence.

You're welcome, it makes a refreshing change not to have to be a smart ass to labour a point, and people think when the regulars do it here that we're being unfriendly, ah well.

    Good luck.

You'll get different opinions from different people so it would really depend on the style you want done and just forget the issue of the freckles knowing the results are dependent on that.
So basically what style are you looking at? Where are you based?

If you look at the I'll show you mine thread you can get an idea what different people are good at around the country.

I'd say have a look at Porn_stars work if you are looking at oriental, Karen Russell looks to have the skills down that end of the country.

Tribal, I hate so I wouldn't have a clue who can do it, but with the amount of people wearing random black slashes across their body it seems any fool with a tattoo machine is doing it these days....
