Busted out in carlow for ticket

Travelled up from Waterford to Carlow and into a pub Called Nancy Whiskeys owned by Celtic Poker Tours Mike Foley for a €100 Freezeout with a guaranteed ticket 4 IPT ... Few familar faces up there Nicky Power , Danny Guiney all travelled to try and take down the ticket ... But to no avail

I ended up down to the last three with a nice stack after doubling up with A/K against Q/Q ... Eddie walsh from Wicklow winner of Celtic tournie in dublin and took 10k 1st prize was beside me and had double my stack and the gentleman from ferns on my left had 10k less then me so it was even enough i taught

Small Stack made a move all in on the small blind and i called with pocket 10s i looked up the table to see J/7 and was still worried as jacks were out all nite ..... And so they were as the dealer flipped over the River i saw the Jack ... It shattered me and left me with 17k ... Blind at 5k/10/k

The next hand i was astonished whwn i folded the two big stacks went all in and called ... I looked at the flop to see 10/7/2 and the large stack turned over 10/9 and the small stack 7/4 , this was worth a grand to me i taught happy days at least i had a chance heads up no matter what i had .....
Turn card was a q .... And then again the guy from ferns had done it again with the river turning over to see a 4 ...Oh My God

I couldnt believe it 2 times i would have been heads up for a ticket and the river got me twice ..... No chips left on the Big Blind i sucked out on Q/10 and as if to say its not your day ... The river man turned over Q/j

Poker is such a strange game but thats why we love it .... Few more chances this week and next week to win a ticket for the Ipt ... Off to Carlow again Thurs for A Freezeout in The card club starting at 9pm this week ....
And then its down up to the Gresham 4 the Last chance Saloon .... The €3000 entry is alot 2 pay straight up and i think if i won a sattelite i wd play different as it would have only cost me 100 to enter whereas if i buy in i will be very edgy in play ...

Did you have to pull it yourself?

and then when you got the drink, was it only about 3/4 full ?

Was there a big 'slug' taken out of it ?

A big slug in it would have been more interesting. There were probably 300 people at the bar but only about 8 of them got any drinks at all.

And so you normally consider trends you see in the cards that are dealt?

Don't knock that idea in a self dealt game.

yep, poor dealer usually means a few riffles with clumps of cards left together, a sneaky way of gaining an advantage if you can spot it in home games ;)
