do you leave mce on "live tv" overnight?

I told everyone at home to press "stop" before turning the telly off just to rest the hardrives, but i have noticed live tv stuttering about every 10 seconds when i go into live tv again in the morning,

changing channels a few time will eventually stop it

also, anyone having problems resuming from standby

I always leave my machine in standby. Just in case there is something in the record list.
Another reason for leaving it in standby is because on powerup it doesn't recognise my TV card. To get it to reconise the TV card i must restart Media centre a few times.
