free alternative to winzar

    hiya

    Have a trial version of winrar and looking for a free alternative to it to uncompress .rar files. any ideas?

    7- zip http://www.7-zip.org/ will unpack any rar archives. Completely free too!

    winrar is free...
    you can still use it after it passes the 30 day trial.
    just wait for the days to stop counting and you can click continue

    Software distributed on the basis of an honour system.
    Most shareware is delivered free of charge, but the author usually requests that you pay a small fee if you like the program and use it regularly, or beyond a defined period.
    By sending the small fee, you become registered with the producer so that you can receive service assistance and/or updates.
    You can copy shareware and pass it along to friends and colleagues, but they too are expected to pay a fee if they use the product beyond the trial period.
    Basically, they want paying. They use pester power to encourage you to pay. They want copyright laws to protect them.

    Key word: honour.
