This is a question I've been asking people for a long time. Some of you may have heard it before and some may not.

Two players with the same name played in the Hurling and Football All Ireland in 1998. Name please?

p.s. Might I suggest to keep this thread going as a quiz thread admin?

Might be a bit obscure but someone should know it. In which county were both the handpass and toe to hand solo first used/invented. Bonus points if you can name the clubs involved in each.

Clane in Kildare for the handpass, a Clongowes Teacher member of the team Professor Crowley was accredited with having invented the handpass

God damn internet. So easy to find information. Well done cruiserweight, bonus point too. A little bit more searching would lead you to the answer for the solo.

Hint. The club still exists but under a different name.

I am to lazy to search:D But I have a question! The winners of the All-Ireland Club senior football championship are presented with the Andy Merrigan Cup, what great club did Andy Merrigan play for? (Hint : they are my local club;) )

It's something I never thought of. And I certainly didn't realise he was a Wexford man. It's a good day when you learn something.

I suppose this is simple enough. The last man to lift the Old Sam Maguire Cup?

WHO has played at more Munster finals, hurling and football, than anyone else in the history of the Gaelic Athletic Association?

    Nobody is answering any questions!

The answer to my question is Castletown!

Meath were the last county to lift the old Sam Maguire in 1987, and the first team to lift the new trophy in 1988!

To add to that the first club to use the toe to hand solo was Roseberry (currently Sarsfields in Newbridge).

Benedict : Gotta be Sean Og O'Halpin, Don't know who the New Zealander was but must be a Wexford or Offaly hurler. After that I'm guessing.

Edit: could be a Mayo or Kerry footballer either. Didn't Sean Og play in '99 and '02?
