Lidl Programmable Remote (6.99)

This is a great little remote - bought one last time they were out - replaces several remotes but the best thing is the programmable option. Point your remote at it and it learns the signal (good for old equipment or obscure manufacturers).

    http://www.lidl.ie/ie/home.nsf/pages/c.o.20060522.p.Remote

Dead handy for using for DVD - I use "Vol up/down" to control TV volume while "Ch up/down" controls DVD chapter-skip, and so on.

Has a macro function too and can power down all programmed devices at once when its time for beddy-byes!

Doesn't make the tea though....

:EDIT: Went on german LIDL site by mistake and found this novel beer dispensing device! Zey err heffing ze krayzee timesh, ja?

Have to agree with you. Got one today, was not sure what it would be like, but at 6.99 wasnt going to go bankrupt. Im pleasently surprised. I have a video sender from Argos (€45) and this will actually control my sky box in the next room, through the video transmitter! Once I set it up with the original Sky box of course.

Yeah its great. Cant get it to make friends with my 14" Beko though. Stop laughing...Im getting a bigger one for the WC (world cup that is, although theres a good place for the Beko....WC:)

But all in all its great value....and it has a clock as well!

Also picked up the 4 coloured markers for writing on CDs etc.

If you have the original remote it'll learn the commands from it.
If not, there are instructions on p6/7 of the manual for auto-searching.
If it still doesn't work - maybe a really long stick? :D

In all fairness I dont see myself watching the World Cup on the 14" Beko (though its a grand little set). Its in the kitchen area so Im sure I will want to watch some games there, so I'll get probably a cheap 21" flatscreen in Argos. Would like a 22-24" LCD widescreen, but it will have to wait as I also have to get myself a Pioneer DVD recorder, for the World Cup of course:)

This is a great little remote
The last ones they had were excellent (without lcd) , ten times better quality then the ones in the 2 Euro shops.

Did you manually try all the codes, it may take a while but it should have the make and number on the card with it?

This gets a thumbs up from me too !
Way better than any of those cheap looking 'OneForAll' make remotes especially when you consider the learning function.
If this was any other make this would cost at the very least 50/60 yoyo's.

i doubt it will work with the sky box, though i may be wrong, its not possible to send the signal through the video sender.

does this have a 'setup/menu' button? i'm using a universal remote for an 'orion' tv but can't set the channels because it does not have that button.

    cheers

In the usual aisle markyboy, with all the other special offer stuff? I walked up and down both sides and didn't see them! :)

Near the end, on the right hand side going towards the back wall. :D They'd only about 20 left when I was there.

Does it work for the right and left arrows (what's on next stuff). On mine I can see what's on the next/previous chanels but not see what's on next. Which default did you use for this?

Has anyone got this working with their XBOX 360? I went through the steps of programming it manually using the existing remote. It said "success" after I'd finished however it doesn't seem to work the console at all.

I did the same with my Dell LCD TV and no joy either.

Any have any luck with these?
