Good. Patience needed to get a signal, but good once you do.

Its got a 39 cm dish and can get Astra 1, 2 and Hotbird (thats all I've tested so far, but Sirius is also possible, I think).

Comes with everything you need, dish, lnb, mounting stuff, cable.

dish is small but still a bargain at this price, you can always get a bigger dish later and even motorise the system.

Desktop PC Boards discount code on https://www.satellite.ie/ is boards.ie

They had loads of these in cork over weekend but i personally think that the system in www.corksat.ie is better value.

How long does it take to get going ? My da' just bought one and wants to head down to wexford and put it up on our house down there.

What kind of channels do you pick up? I'm new to this stuff so I may sound a little retarded.

What kind of channels are free that you can get straight away etc...

Just to know what to expect.

    Thanks,

    Hj

i'm keen to know what advantage there is to these type of satelite dishes - are there any worthwhile channels available?

I took about an hour to get all three satellites working, so about 20 minutes each for the first time. You improve after that, once you note your compass bearings etc.

That are lists of channels available from the lyngsat website, and if you point it at Astra 2, you'll get all the FTA channels, like BBC (about 7-8 of them including the interactive stuff), ITV, Sky News, CNN. You won't get Channel 4 or 5 with it.

Are these ok for domestic use say on a house - fixed permanently outside?

    What channels can you get?

They have all the mounting bits in them for attaching to a house, to a window with suction cups, or to tables and window ledges using a small vice.
