Pitches used for mulit-purposes (eg Rugby & Soccer)

Was watching BBC on Sunday morning ahead of the Leeds V Watford match.

The reporter was complaining about the appalling condition of the pitch following the rugby match on Saturday.

This is an issue which rears its ugly head sometimes in relation to Lansdowne Road also.

I was wondering how people feel about this?

Are soccer fans right to moan because the surface is uneven, patchy and in some places grassless?

Do rugby fans feel that if the soccer people don't like it, they should make alternative arrangements, given that Millenium Stadium and Lansdowne Road are owned and operated by Rugby Unions?
