Hi, anybody know why a mechanical thermo control/mixing shower valve can only deliver v.hot or v.cold?
Note, hot and cold feeds are, in eror, swopped ie. hot feeding cold side of valve. I'd have thought this simply meant reversal of control function not complete failure to blend?

I think a thermostatic mixer basically controls the amount of hot water in the mix. In your case with the pipes reversed it would be trying to vary the temp with the cold water , so I don't think it would work at all.
