Re-installing XP from different CD?

    A bit of a question for anyone who has done this.
    I am in serious need of a format on my fujitsu laptop, the thing is the system cd has gone walky and have no other xp cd apart from a dell system one. We just tried it today for installing windows on the new mac pro, worked not a bother. And i used my fujitsu xp cd before to install on a desktop then just ring for the code, no bother there either. The thing being, seems as though the dell cd will be used on both the mac pro and my laptop do you think i would have any problems getting an activation cd from them? Bare in mind it wil be installed on the dell, mac pro and fujitsu

    You'd need three licenses - one for each machine.
    Each license (unless a corporate one) will have a UNIQUE serial number, so there would be no problem with activating each one.

    The codes are not matched to individual cd's just to versions like gold/sp1/sp1a/sp2 home/pro etc.

    Also you can't use an OEM license on the Mac PRO, you'd have to get a retail version.

    Ah thanks for the reply:) Il start the format on this one now, dont know how things went so wonky on it. Well, he just got his Mac pro yesterday and has been dying to test out the pc side. It installed not a bother, jsut the usual 30day trial. So will say it to him. Thanks again
