should Command & Conquer be able to run on XP Professional? it's just that today I got the thirst for that game, and have not tried to play it yet on this pc

Not straigth out of the box. Think you need to browse some cnc community sites to find how to get it to work on xp. If you have the first decade version of the orginal cnc and red alert will work with straight off...although you need to patch it to ensure all video's play correctly.

I tried to play XCOM a few years ago on an XP machine..

it was way too fast, i couldnt do anything..

I remember downloading some piece of software that i could run XCOM (and other old games) inside of... it just slowed things down

Can't remeber it now though... not much help  :)

Dos Box per chance? its a real git to get working, but it does work and any old game can be made to work on it.

there's a thing called compatability wizzard in xp

can;t remeber where it's located but allows you to run old games, using a compatability layer.

I did it with Fallout that was designed to be installed on a dos machine :D
