Copenhagen is a great city, there is a brilliant Irish pub on the main street with Live music, can't remember name sorry, something like O'Neills I think.

There is also an open air amusement park just off the main square too.

if you get stuck take a walk down the docks to see the little mermaid statue.

    Good site here: http://www.visitcopenhagen.dk

    Enjoy :)

If you're there for the first weekend in July go to the Rosklide Festival which is just outside Copenhagen.

Think Oxegen with 76,000 people, but no skangers.

If you have a chance visit Tivoli Gardens, which is a big park with beautiful gardens and a theme park. They have the oldest rollercoaster in Europe! It's great, all rickety wood and metal. :)

I lived there for a few years and speak the lingo. It's a wonderful little city that has a lot to offer. Compared to irish cities it can feel a little on the quiet side but you'll meet alot of great people and it really comes to life in the summer. Feel free to ask any specific questions.

cool thanx a mill to everyone. I'm heading over for a conference thingy for about 5 days. will have free time etc evening and nighttimes. plus all day sat and most of a sunday.

The tivoli place looks cool, will stop by there. irish pubs can be a blessing alright but tbh when i'm away i like to make like a local. any suggestions on that front?

also is it expensive over there? heard different reports from people. Heard that they have a lot of local type of beers that cost much less than the Branded types...true?

is Danish hard to learn? looks v strange language to begin with but i'd like to make a stab at it. I'm generally quite good at that kinda thing, time is limited tho i know so just to have a few basics and I'd be happy as

It's expensive alright!! A pint of beer costs around €6-7 depending on where you go. The typical danish beers would be Ceres, Tuborg and ofcourse Carlsberg. Carlsberg tastes better in Denmark trust me. Within the past 5yrs or so alot of micro breweries have made their way into the masses. So the selection is huge.

I actually had a friend of mine wanting to learn danish and I came across this site : http://www.speakdanish.dk/ She is actually doing pretty good so far. The site has english and danish pronunciation you just click on words and stuff... pretty neat.

Shopping you will love... Prices are the same with the likes of Vera Moda and that but much more of a selection. I'm into the Hummel sports/casual gear you can get in Hummel stores, Sportmaster, Intersport or any Sportshop for that matter.

Most people go to Cafes these days.. the local pubs tend to have more skangers and old drunks. In the city centre however all the pubs, bars and cafes are grand. Usually alot of musicians playing on the streets too.
