it seems the seller has sold 'copies' (from his record).
its at full price too !.

they don't accept paypal and want direct money transfer
i asked to forget about it and they have threatened a non payment strike.

should i bail and should (how?) i report them ?

Does it claim the DVD set is an authentic legal copy? Or did you just assume it was before you bought it?

He never claims there are genuine at the same time he never says they are copies either.
From reading the ad a reasonable person would think that they are genuine. But if you know that the show is not available on DVD then it is reasonable to assume they are counterfeit. Do ebay have a policy about selling pirated goods?

It's hard to say where ebay will rule on this.

I do think that description is misleading. A "boxed set" could be a shoebox full of VHS tapes otherwise. Are they just episodes recorded onto blank DVDs?

However the lack of the words "official" or "genuine", plus the fact that the actual product doesn't exist to buy in the first place kinda leaves you high and dry.

I'd say he doesn't want your bad feedback anymore than you want his. Maybe tell him you'll reciprocate (and lodge a complaint) if he posts you bad feedback.

It is illegal to sell pirate goods and it just so happens to be against ebay rules. If you do not want pirate goods, you should not pay. You should leave negative feedback to warn other ebay users about the illegal nature of his sales.

I may be a bit naive (never bought discs from eBay), but I would assumed from the description that they are genuine. I know that boxset could mean a shoebox, but the wording indicates an official release (lack of "genuine" and/or "official" notwithstanding.

Were there any pics with the auction? Can you link to the item itself, or another one of the seller's items?
