Dell Dimeension 3100 - anyone know....

    how to remove the plastic that holds in the modem and other such cards, trying to install video card but it looks like this damn plastic thing is non removable - anyone know the story with this, is this done purposely by DELL so you can't upgrade etc

    any info appreciated

    dunno ive seen it on a few new models tho might be a matter of cutting a hole in the plastic does it have pci slots inside?

    I hope your aware the 3100 doesnt have a slot for upgrading the graphics card, it lacks the PCI-E x16 slot.

    Unless you have a PCI-E x1 or PCI graphics card you wont be able to install one and the only PCI-E x1 cards are 2D multiple display units by Maxtor.

    How about a pic? If it like any of the other dells I've seen then you push in the tab at the end of the green thingie and pull up, it should hinge from one end???
