    Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone knows where the file that stores passwords is?

I am going to be leaving my current job soon and want to remove any trace of passwords on my machine!

I know I could simply change the password from my home machine and this will fix everything so I might simply do that...

    In internet explorer

go to tools > internet options > content > autocomplete >

click on clear forms and clear passwords. Test it buy going to your site and everting your username. See if the password comes up.

In firefox tools > options > privacy > view saved passwords > remove all

and test in the same way.

Thanks Wingnut! Done this so that's one step at least...

Someone told me however, that there is also the possibility of the PWs being saved locally in a file and retrievable by IT. Is this the case?

For instance, my Googletalk logs in automatically in the morning. How can it do this if my pw is not stored somewhere?

Perhaps the best option is to simply change the password on my home machine and then I would assume that it will not be possible to get access to my Gmail account using my work laptop...
