    Party 5/10 6-max
I have 1.7k on the button
    Villains are both pretty good.

    Villain 1 has 1.2k utg+1
Villain 2 covers both on the BB

Table has been fairly tight, and thus I have been quite active.

    Preflop
Villain 1 opens to 36, folded to me and I decide to smooth call with KK, folded to BB who makes it 150 to go, villain 1 folds and I smooth call

    Flop (350ish)
    992 rainbow
    villain leads 200, I call

    Turn (750)
    random 7 or something
villain checks, I bet 500, villain pushes ..... and the world falls out of my bottom .....

    The play is?

you cant fold now, slowplaying then making a marginal fold is never good (or so I read somewhere). He probably has AA but you never know, he might have queens!

You under represented the strength of your hand pre-flop. It looks like you might have JJ/QQ pre-flop... This widens the villains range from AA to KK/QQ... and with the amount you have invested so far I think it has to be a call.

I think you're up against AA almost always here, and occasionally a hand that was messing preflop and hit very big. I think he's practically never bluffing and it's not QQ enough for you to call.

I don't like the first call preflop if you really have been "quite active". Surely this is a great spot to take advantage of your image?

I thought I had under repped my hand strength and therefore called. Villain showed AA and I'm no good.

I agree with round tower about it being AA very very very often, and hardly ever QQ/JJ. I think I should have found a fold.

With regard to calling preflop - mostly I reraise, but this time I decided to smooth call. I had been calling a good bit in position, so I need to do it with a big hand every now and then, especially against the particular villain who opened the pot.

Agreed. I think a smaller bet of around 300 would have worked better. You are still giving JJ/QQ very bad odds and you are still able to get away from a push.

At the time I didnt want to get away from a push. Hindsight is 20/20.

I dont think there is any need to bet the turn. Just chk then call his inevitable river bet.

Out of interest; why are you at this table?

    Was thinking that myself.

And a related question. Do you find party tighter in general than ppp?

An exceendingly weak spot to my immediate right, and a supertight nit to my immediate left from whom I steal from.

Isolate the weak spot, and steal from the nit.

Working a charm until this hand.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.
