Creative 6.1 speakers with audigy card

Problem is all speakers work when doing the tests in the creative software however whenever i play songs through media player or when games are loaded, surround sound doesn't work, only the front three speakers. Any ideas?

Stereo music will only play through the front speakers, use the EAX console to pick a CMSS setting to upmix it (I prefer CMSS 2 myself). For games make sure that the ingame settings are set to surround/5.1/6.1 etc Also make sure your control panel settings match what's in the creative speaker settings

bear in mind most games and music are not designed for surround sound.
