Gouves is nice. A bit out from hersonnissos.

    Go to the waterpark
    Tiger bar
    Club Amnesia
    Camelot

Old hersonnissoss town or piskopiano for food and trad greek night.

Stay away from malia, if you dont like brits.

Be prepered to meet hundreds of students after doing their Leaving Cert asking you "What school did you go to" in a D4 accent every night before they even ask you their name. Herschlong-a-schlong was just a complete boozy week for us (group of 8 lads) but we felt a bit old (we were 21-25) coz we were surrounded by those leaving certers.

I'm glad to read this thread, I'm going to Hersonnissoss myself in a month's time and wasn't sure what to expect. I say the place will be riddled with leaving cert kids though.

Can't comment on Gouves(never stayed there). However, me'n'FunkyMa are just back from 2 weeks in Malia. We stayed in the Luellen apartments(Budget Travel), in the old town, away from the brashness of the beach road. She doesn't swim, and I don't do beaches, so our location suited us. Malia old town has a great selection of restaurants(we like Greek food). Yes, there are a lot of UK holidaymakers in the town, but we never had a problem with that. Also, Malia is at sea level(unlike Koutouloufari/Piskopiano/Old Hersonissos), so no uphill slog after a night out!

gouves is much nicer than hersonossis, we stayed in hersonossis but rented scooters and went down to gouves...

food is much nicer, less english louts and beaches are much nicer too... you'll love it!

hersonossis is worth going in to for a few nights out though...beaches arent great there... star beach is good though...
