pc wont work

    ok so ive have this pc been usingf it for a few weeks now

    thing is now it halts on bios
    no beeps nothing
    i have got display and all just dunno whats wrong its an award bios
    all starts as normal then stops the hdd led stays on from when i press the power button trill i turn it back off so it might be my problem?

    also the cmos battery is dead so everytime i turned it on before i had to press F1 but it doesnt even get that far now

    Check all cables connected to cd +hd. also connection from disks to mother brd.
    could be lots of things but illiminate the easy first

    Looks like the CMOS battery needs replacing seeing as you were warned about it before the machine gave up the ghost.
    As a matter if interest how old is the machine?
    Did anyone make any hardware changes to it around when you started having issues?

    The bios may also be dectecting a device but perhaps it's faulty and is not returning any queries sent. If that's the case it usually times out after a while a spews up an error.

    If the above post doesn't work or what I have written flash the bios and upgrade it. You can get the latest version from the PC vendors webby.

    just replaced the battery with one i had lying about still the same problem the system was made in 1999 i think couldnt be sure
