My God that's terrible - and I can see all the work you put into it too.

The laws here are just too lenient for these scumbags. Was there any alarm or imobiliser in it. I have an 8v Mk II as well and would be raging if that happened mine.

That is really terrible, i'm sorry about that. What did they crash into to cause that much damage?

Also how did they get the car?

That brings back memories. Around 10 years ago, I had a really nice 89 Mk2 16v which I'd brought back from when I was living in Germany. The car was broken into 3 times, but they never managed to start it. I finally gave up and sold it. A month later, I saw it in the garage, looking much like yours does now. Lovely cars, but apparently very easy to steal.

yea broke glass and got in hot wired it....

did not think anyone would take it being a 91 and all the glanzas and such on the road....

all i can say is it is gutting

They will take what is easy to steal. Did it have immobiliser?? or any visual deterrent??
personally I put good alarms/immobilisers on my cars and a big yellow steering lock on the wheel, and park with the wheels turned etc etc, just to make it more difficult for them to consider robbing them.
And I have seen cars drive in sussing out my cars...
But anyway, what a bunch of scummers. Hope they die...

Tis a pity that if one protects a car zero tolerance style (tazers flames etc) you get arrested not them.

    Mike.

    Sorry for your trouble man!
It must be so disheartening when something like that happens, the lowlifes who stole it will get their 'just rewards' someday!

As a matter of interest, where did you buy the plates for it?
(They look like 'german style' numbers/letters)

Jesus, sorry to hear about the car man. Scangers like that need a face full of a hammer.

I'm sickened for you ro, it's a constant fear of mine that someone will have a go at my Mustang, even though it's alarmed, immobilised and covered all it takes is one smart ass to have a go. I hope the insurance dont feck you around and give a fair deal.

Absolutely tragic. This sort of thing sickens me. Little FU(KS see something old, but obviously loved and decide - I'll have a go at that, purely because it will hurt someone.

I wouldn't piss on them if they burned in front of me.

    sorry about your car mate.:(

    what a bunch of b******s,

wouldnt it be nice to catch them at it, just before they get in to the car & come down on them like a ton of bricks, suppose the owner of the car would get locked up then instead of those scumbags:mad:

there has to be something wrong when the law favours the guilty & the victims get punished !

God forgive, but I hope whoever caused that was injured in the process...scum

Little sh1ts. Don't let this get to you. Remember, when you are earning big bucks after you finish college you'll be able to buy all the cars you want. Those little sh1ts will probably be dead!

    Keep the head up...

Sorry to hear and see that.

Hopefully they'll get their comeuppance soon. The only good car-thief/joyrider is a dead one.

There should be a little button that lets you turn off the airbags at night just for times like this.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,577 ✭✭✭Heinrich

That is really tough to accept. I hope your insurance can sort you out.

If they ever catch those thieves let's hope there is a padded cell for them otherwise we will get the bleeding hearts brigade moaning about Garda brutality...
