hey ive got this small form factor k6 by tatung ill be using for my server my question is its a small flat pc and the dvd drive has nics so it can be used as a tower but is this wise? i did it before for a couple hours but thats about it i was wondering would i overheat it or anything like that? and im covering vents when…

If it's designed to be used on it's side it should be fine, however if it was me I'd be leaving it whichever way it can get the best ventilation, especially if you're planning on leaving it on 24 hours a day as a server. You don't want it overheating and causing a fire or something when you're at work...
