The next movie by Richard Linklater. Looks like a great documentary. The book put me off fast food for a long time.... I wonder if the movie will do much damage to the industry?
A dramatic feature based on material from the incendiary book Fast Food Nation, a no-holds-barred exploration of the fast food industry that ultimately revealed the dark side of the "All American Meal." A film by Richard Linklater, starring Patricia Arquette, Bobby Cannavale, Luis Guzman, Ethan Hawke, Ashley Johnson, Greg Kinnear, Kris Kristofferson, Avril Lavigne, Esai Morales, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Paul Dano, Lou Taylor Pucci, Ana Claudia Talancon and Wilmer Valderrama.

Didn't know Richard Linklater was directing this.. He's got [the excelent looking] A Scanner Darkly out this year too. Busy guy.

It's not a documentary though -- it's dramatic fiction based on the research done in the book (which was fact). The film is about a made-up fastfood chain called 'Mickeys' or something. Will be interesting to see how that works out.

It's an odd take on the book going the dramatisation route. Looks a little bit like a public information shpeil. Suppose what with all the food safety/fast food documentaries that have sprung up in the last while it hopes to stand out. Hope it works, it'd be terrible if people were put off by the crassness of it, because it's worth telling. If anything if it gets people to read the book it's worthwhile.

That line always stuck in my head...

Read a review of this last week on JoBlo.com - didn't seem very impressed with it at all!

    Here it is!

But yeah.. Linklater is definantly keeping busy!
