So that is 23 episodes in total in season 2, with episode 22 and 23 to come with 23 being a 2hour special..

    Correct??

No, the 2 finale is in two parts (namely #23 and #24). So there is episode #22 and then the big finale episode.

    lol....read post 2...its not complicated

    to put it simply:
as Matt Raggs writer said on the fuselage, "there will be 24 hours of lost over 23 episodes..."

This is true for how they're shown in the US, and most international territories will follow that pattern.

However, technically and for future syndication, there are 24 episodes in season 2, with the last two being "Live Together, Die Alone, Part 1" and "Live Together, Die Alone, Part 2". Most countries will still do the two-hour wrap for season two, but down the line, for future repeats, these air as two 43-minute episodes.

For the purposes of international distribution, season 1 had 25 episodes, which included a two-hour pilot (this was also also available as two separate episodes as was the case when shown in the US). Season one also included a two-part, two-hour finale, "Exodus, Part 2". While they are two-hour episodes when originally shown, the syndication system mean they are always broken up afterwards, and there becomes an "Exodus, Part 3". (Most other shows go through the same thing.)

For season two, there are 24 one-hour episodes; the finale breaking up into two individual hours for syndication repeat (though, as I say, not usually on the first airing, where it is usual to hype up the finale by playing it out in 'movie' form as it originally was in the US.)

And of course, there are the non-episodes, "Reckoning", "Revelation" etc, which recap the previous episodes, and also are sold as if they were part of the series proper, to slot in at particular points. (I've long said savvy fans can note future plot point developments by noting some of the more unusual items in those recap specials.)
