Don't worry about it, I won't be competing. Turns out these trials aren't as open as one would have thought.

    Jumping between boards is confusing!

Whats the deal? last I spoke to you, you were waiting for word back from the organiser

I got word back from the orgainiser and the competition is not open to me.

In other words, the trials are open, but only for a given value of open.

Theta? That's always a good given value.

Wow I just love the term "open". Last week we had an open tournament that cost more for outsiders to enter and now... I think you're better off rid of sh1t like this Tim, I wouldn't kick yourself over it.

How not open are they then? I assume this probably means they're not open to me either.

    Tim,
As you know I wasn't around when you split from the group. I haven't spoken to the organiser about it, but will do on Sunday.
For anyone else, unfortunately Tim's problem is probably personal. hopefully it can be rectified, I know there was a push to invite as mant as possible so yes it is meant to be 'Open'

    Sorry man

    No fear of that!

I’d imagine they would be open to you. If you are interested in competing abroad I’d recommend it, the WKAs are good.
    Sorry man
No worries dude, TBH I didn’t really expect anything more from him.

As you say it’s ‘meant’ to be open. It just goes to show how far the WKA has to go in terms of professionalism. It’s a bit of a joke that the orgainiser can choose who can and can’t compete in ‘open’ eliminations based on whether or not he holds a grudge against an individual competitor or not. I wonder if that is standard GAISF policy? It also goes to show that the orgainiser is not interested in selecting the strongest possible national team, which is a shame IMO.

Anyone want to do a complete fact file?

    *Including what WKA stands for?

I didn't realise it was until yesterday.
tim did you lay your man's missus down?
    god no.

Sorry guys, I'm not going into the details of it over the net. I used to train with him, I don't anymore. It was all old news as far as I'm concerned.

oh and WKA stands for World Kickboxing Association.

It happened over breakfast, I can reveal. It was a "are you going to finish that egg" type argument that went horribly, horribly wrong.

People are so damn nosey! Mind your beeswax!

(Tell me Tim I stood up for you)

Its best left alone. The folks you are talking about are personal friends of mine and don't deserve this type of spurious comments. Whatever happened between Tim and him is between them.

    elytron,
I've no problem with you questioning it, I just don't plan on discussing it on here. it's old news at this stage.

I forgive you Ely... But know this! Don't cross me again!

..wait. On a serious note, shame to hear promoters involve their personal lives with competition.

I'm just interesting in competing (though I very much doubt I'd even get past the trials at the moment, if I'm even free then).

So on those grounds, Jon, I'd appreciate any details you'd care to send me.
    johnnymurph@gmail.com
    Thanks.

    you'd think alright.

I've just read the invitation email that's being sent around for this and in fairness it does say "The competition will be opened to all styles of martial arts. ", it doesn't all all styles of people! :D
