Second monitor - sort my brain

    Hi,

I currently have a AGP GeForce mX 440, with a normal 17" monitor.

I'd like to get a 17" LCD for a second screen.

My card has the normal connector, plus a "TV out"

Question is, if I buy an LCD will it plug into the TV out?

Do I need another card? Or some sort of adaptor for this one?

The card has NVidia's NView which enables multiple monitors.

    Thanks for any advice

You need a graphics card with dual VGA or DVI outs (or one of each).

If your existing GF4-MX has only one VGA out then you will need to buy a new graphics card the s-video out is for out-putting to TV's.

Just get this for €45 it's basically an NVIDIA GeForce5-MX and it has a VGA out and DVI out.

DVI is a digital output if your LCD monitor doesn't have a DVI connector then get a DVI-VGA adapter as well though there is a chance you get one free with the graphics card but better safe then sorry.

Power off the PC & just swap the cards it will find the new one in windows cancel the hardware wizard if it prompts and install the latest NVIDIA drivers.
