flop is Q97 all hearts. chk chk
turn 5 he leads pot i call
river 3 he leads pot i call

any thoughts? we are both pretty deep

i would have bet the flop i really think he has the flush if your read is correct and he is as tight as you say he is.

If he has the flush he more than likely will only have AKh as his holding. Just a quick Q, were either the 5 or 3 a heart?

If he does have AKh or A*h would he really bet the pot? Surely he'd bet at most 1/2, 3/4 the pot as he has the nuts.

He might have AA even with the Ah to which your strong favorite to take it down.

If he has the nuts he's playing it well

What's his limping range UTG? AhKh? 68o?

Why do you check the flop?

hes very tight so probably TT+ or AK

I checked the flop because anytime he puts much money into a pot he has the nuts, or at least a very strong hand.

Well if he's that tight, i think calling both streets is ok. If we have his range correct, then we're only losing to AhKh.

My only concern is whether he'd bet the pot on the river without a flush. You've said he doesn't bet without big hands, so maybe AA and KK are outside his range here, as they're only single pairs on a dangerous board.

Edit: Misread flop action, ty Rnger.

    I raise the river.

What does Villain think you're calling with on flop and turn? I'd be very concerned that Villain has the made flush all the way, especially when he pots the river.

I made this same mistake. It wasnt pot on every street, the flop was checked which makes it for more likely that HJ is ahead here. Firing two on a semi-bluff seems more likely when there was no action on the flop.

I dont think folding the river is really possible here, we have shown no strength at all, and the bet isnt that big. About 150 I think - ie its not like he pushed. Whilst hes tight hes not insanely tight!
