i have my eye on this Freecom 320GB Classic SL USB2 (http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3TVM&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=freecom&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0) and i am not really sure should i get this?

It will all come to 175 euros (there abouts) which isn't bad

Click the specification tab from that link above and scroll down till u see

    Environmental Parameters
    Max Operating Temperature 55 °C

    Min Operating Temperature 5 °C

55 °C is blazing hot and is there a cooling fan inside this Freecom 320GB Classic SL USB2 HDD?

What brand of Hard Disk drive is inside the case?

What are the Pros and Cons from this product?

Help would be appreicated very much... Thank U

It wont be at max all the time it will hover some were in between the min/max temp in general usage.

As for who makes the drive couldn't say but Freecom don't they just stick a generic HD in there. Western Digital do sell a 320GB drive so it could be one of theirs.

Pro's and con's aren't all that big of a deal with an external HD the interface of USB2 or Firewire limits the performance of the hard drive so it doesn't really matter too much whats inside there to begin with. Though if you want absolute best performance then an external enclosure with at least Firewire or at best eSATA would be a better choice.
