Just saw the news on RTE. It's an absolute disgrace that those tourists that come over to visit our country are messed up like this. What is even more annoying is that this is a totally unjustified action initiated by thickos that dont realise how lucky they are to have a steady job like this.

I would get the army trained up and cut these guys wages and tell them and their lawyers to **** off.

Please link to the story you're referencing for the benefit of everyone here, and don't bump posts 20 minutes after you made it.

And who will train (pardon the pun!) the soldiers? The train drivers?

The Defence Forces have better things to be doing than acting as handymen whenever a strike (unofficial or otherwise) is called. Not enough money or resources as it is.

    Well there's painting fences and...um,...er...;)

Only kidding :D I know people in the army and it's a bit more than that :D

I think the OP has the right idea we could use the Army Ranger Wing. Those guys wouldn't need any training to operate a train at all klong, they know everything. I heard McGuyver trains them!!! :D

This is a ridiculas idea? I mean why not suggest that postal workers man the trains?

Being in the army is a full time job. We may not be at war but they are this countries security as in the are on duty in prisions, large cash runs, not to mention the number of men and women we have over seas.

Ok OP bitch about the trian workers but dont be a moron and insult the army in the same stroke.

Best solution.... sue the B@stards personally if the deviate from agreed procedures..... Cannot understand why that does not happen

How difficult is it to drive a train? Most of us can manage cars. What should be so incredibly difficult about driving something that is constrained by rails.

Sod getting the army in to drive the trains. Can we not get a few Chinese 'students' out of McDonalds or Burger King to drive them? For a small fee.
