I tell someone I'm colluding. Is this OK?

I posted this on 2+2 and am getting flamed for it more or less unanimously. What do you guys think?

Small stakes tourney last week on Pokerstars. I don't have the HH or the hand transcript but we were somewhere in the middle of the tournament. Fish limps in MP, I raise K4o on the button, BB calls all in for 1.5BB total. Fishy folds. BB wins the pot.

After the hand fishy asks "why the raise?" "moron". I don't tap the glass. I say "BB is my buddy", "I don't want him knocked out at this stage of the tourney". Fishy jumps on me and tells me I am colluding and cheating. I'm having too much fun stirring the sh:t at this point and tell him "it's hardly cheating to help a buddy out". He threatens to tell Stars support. A third player chimes in and tells me "RoundTower in future I wouldn't mention that in public".

This goes on for some time. I'd post the chat transcript if I had it.

Am I being a dick here or is this harmless fun?

Two+Two is full of muppets, I don't think you acted like a dick, but it probably wasn't the smartest thing in the world to do for your own sake.

I have to say I love the first reply you got on 2 + 2....:D

This is the equivalent of making a joke that you have a bomb in airport security. Not cool and bound to get you in big trouble. Much safer to just not do it.

I've done it myself in much the same circumtances, so I'm being a lot hyprocritical in criticising it.

Buts its a little bit bad really.
You wouldnt say it live, so probably shouldnt say it online either.
As its a small stakes tourney, theres probably new players. And it wouldnt be good if new players get the idea theres cheating going on. Ideally you want new players to tell their mates how wonderful poker is, not that you get cheated. Its the sort of throwaway comment which ends up with some nutjob going on the radio saying 'Its all corrupt, people boast about cheating and get away it. Oh and its fixed as well, my AA got cracked which should never happen.'
The poker site itself actually wouldnt be impressed for the above reason - 'the perception of cheating' is almost as damaging as cheating itself.

But as I've said, I've done it myself just to wind people up.

And just like bomb in an airport joke, even though it's wrong, you still can't resist saying it.

Wow I can't believe how retarded people on 2+2 are. Knew there was a reason I stopped reading it.

I also remember going on to that table and diffusing the argument in the best way I could. They didn't take what you said too well but I placated as best I could. All harmless fun imo.

What hand did the BB have?

By "diffusing the argument in the best way I could", did that involve asking "roundtower can you send me the money we agreed on from the last tournament?" and me telling you "just email me about it, there are too many nosy pricks to discuss it in the chat"?

Nicky I don't remember what he had but I think it was two unpaired cards below a king.

lol! So you were giving him protection by putting him all in with a better hand than he had. That makes sense. What a pile of assclowns.

But he would have paired up and won the hand.....

We are used to a bit of **** stirring. Unfortunately, these words (Irony; Sarcasm) are not in the American dictionary and are especially dangerous when mixed with this word (Uniform).

    The formula is
    sarcasm + uniform = prison

    I like your 2+2 avatar :)

If I was BB in this hand I would have played to it and said something like 'Cheers Steve' or some other random name....
