Renting a Jeep...

I have to bring a boat back from the UK in the next few weeks, and I don't feel my car would be up to the challenge (about 500miles driving altogether)
I have plenty of friends with jeeps, but I don't want to go asking (besides theyre all big expensive things.. I wouldnt like to be driving them!)

Are there any rental companies that rent jeeps? Don't need anything big or fancy

It might be cheaper to rent a van, should do the job just as well and you'd definitely have more choice to shop around.

Hertz were the only company I could find who allow both jeeps and travel to UK.

Not sure if they have towbars ! The Xtrial I had didnt

Enterprise have Xtrails on their rental fleet and they also have a van rental division. AVIS Truck & Van Rental do not have towbars on any vehicles. I doubt you will find any cars/vans with towbars tbh - unless you can find a rental company who specialise in that sort of thing.

It's actually only a single axle trailer, pulling about 1ton ... nothing heavy at all.

I just dont like the idea of driving across the UK/Ireland pulling it with my Dad's Micra :D

-Edit- Will be pulling a 5.85m RIB With 90HP engine

I've towed boats many times from UK. Latest was 16ft Catamaran with 2L Legacy. Mostly motorway - no problem, 5th gear most of the time. 4th on the hills.
    - Edit - Also towed a rib with no problems. A bit smaller than yours though - 4.7 with a 50hp.
    Jim.
