Star Wars Books!

    Anyone ever read the Star Wars books which continue on the stories?
    I thought the series such as the X-Wing, Jedi Academy, and Smuggler's Tales (probably not the exact names) were excellent!

    Anyone have any thoughts on those?

    My personal favourite Star Wars books are the Dark Nest Trilogy (set 25-30 years after ROTJ), but I'd recommend you read some of the other books where events occur more immediately after ROTJ because if you read these first, you'll find out stuff that'll make you not want to bother reading the others.

    Have a look at the Heir to the Empire trilogy (all about Grand Admiral Thrawn and his taking over from the Emperor), they were the books that were originally mooted (way back in 1996) to be what the new Star Wars (what ended up being the prequel trilogy) films were going to be about.

    Thrawn trilogy, X-wing series, jedi academy trilogy, dark saber and the new whole of the new jedi order except balance point. theres some graphic novel going around as well, dark empire basically about the emperors resurrection, but they suck.

    dark empire is a fantastic story with crappy artists, i have first edition copies of dark empire 1 and 2 in comic form.

    by far the best series of books is NJO, dark nest is good BUT the ending is extremely abrupt. i do have high hopes for the new series coming out.

    The Art really messed up Dark empire for me. Liked them but did'nt like the whole, "hello there have some of my darkside power".

    2 weeks to legacy of the force, really looking foorward to them.
