A friend of mine got me a card up North and when she phoned to get it activated she was told that it would clear her card package! If she posts it down to me and I give her address and the serial number of my Sky + box is different to her address will it make a difference or can I just phone give my box details and her address? Also should I take the phoneline out when I use the FTA Card?

no such thing as a free to air card. Free to air by its very nature does not need a card. I'm sure you mean free to view . You can activate it on your box if you hide you caller Id and have all your friends details. Phoneline should be disconnected while using FTV card.

    Tony,

Just in relation to friends details, do I just need to give address but I can give my own Sky + box details?

Yes, all the details for the address at which the card was delivered and your box number.
You do know that the Sky+ recording won't work with a FreeSat card don't you?

Yes, you can record onto a VCR or DVD Recorder.

Also, make sure you have her postcode to hand, as they'll almost certainly ask for this. They just might ask for her password too.

And, finally, as it's in a woman's name, it'll need to be a female ringing to activate the card. Otherwise, they might ask to speak to the card-holder.
