is there any place I can host all of these for free and just send people the links to view them?

    Cheers

Yes many I have found ImageShack to be the best.

    www.photobucket.com is handy.

You can keep them in the same folders for later reference too.

You should have got some web publish space from your isp when you signed up. Just check with them You can use Photoshop or Picasa to create your web page automatically and then just upload the folders to there. Bear in mind Picasa is free and can easily be downloaded if you don't have access to PS.
280 Mb is a little on the large side and works out at just under a Mb a pic but as far as I know the pics will be resized to a res of your choosing by whatever app you use, so that won't be a prob.
I was asked to do the informal afters shots at a recent wedding and this is exactly what I did, works a treat.
