    Hi all,

I done something to really upset my brother. He done something to my computer to get back at me. He took the PSU out of it and left it on the ground. Anyway, when I put it back in and switched it on, there was a beeping sound out of it. The screen will not come on either. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem, as my stuff for school is on there and I need it urgently. Thanks in advance.

Make sure the psu is plugged into the various components properly. and make sure its the right way around intothe motherboard, although, i don't think they plug design lets you put it in the wrong way around

The power for the screen is independent of the computer. It should have its own plugg, or else have a plug that goes into a second black connector on the outside of the psu

The "Beep Beep" when PC is turned on is generally a signal of a memory (RAM) problem. Try to locate the memory SIMMS and make sure they are properly seated. Might have got a knock when the PSU was removed.

How many beeps is it? Check to see you didnt knock something out of place when plugging the psu back onto the motherboard.

It is 2 beeps every 4 or 5 secs. Ehh...... Then when I go to plug in the screen and connect it all up at the back of the computer, the screen comes on and goes straight into standby. He took all the wires out aswell as the psu.

Apologise to your brother. (Never imagined I'd suggest that to fix a computer...)

Does he have a computer? take the side off and see how his is connected.

Did you connect the smaller square 4 pin molex connector to the motherboard?

Does your brother know a lot about PCs? If he doesnt he could have broke something.....

You shuld have one like this connected

    ga8909_12vatxbad.jpg

    and one like this

    50.jpg

If he completely removed, the PSU from the system, you will have to reconnect HDDs Optical drives.....

And if you have a mid/high end Graphics card you will need to connet a molex connector to it

    I Hope that helps

Make sure the power leads which go to the ON button are correct, consult your manual for the exact layout and manual of the PSU for the exact ones you have, like they ever match.

Why resort to violence when you can take off his heatsink and listen as his CPU smolders the next time he turns on his PC

P.s In order for this to work you must disable thermal throttling in the Bios:D

He He, Maybe that is a bit extreme:D

Rearange the letters of his keyboard so that it spells "prick" :D

    Did you fix it yet?

No still no joy. I don't know what to do. I can't afford to get someone to fix it. But I need the stuff for Monday.

Can you take pictures and post them?

Have you connected all the hdds and the 2 motherboard connectors?

    What motherboard is in it?

I like that idea How would I go about that?

Pull the keys off and just put them back on how you want them.

Do it roughly enough and youll have broken his keyboard too :)

You can buy a tool for popping the keys off a keyboard or just be enterprising and find something else to do it.
