Yeah, there's a promotion going on with Sky & Sony. Buy a Sony HD LCD and SkyHD, and get €150 cashback (actually chequeback probably). Still, the offer is for limited time, and by the sound of things, SkyHD hardware is scarce, so few will be able to take up the offer?

Sony very late to LCD screens and I'm not impressed. Their Trinitron frankly much better, as are some LCD screens from much cheaper vendors.

Must agree. The Trinitrons were fantastic sets, though there was a few models that had very dodgy Trinitron CRT's.

Sony don't manufacture LCD panels themselves. They have bought into Samsung's LCD manufacturing plant and use same screens as them.

Oddly, the previous grey Bravia alongside a similar specced Samsung, the Samsung looked much better and brighter.

The newest Bravia, particularly the one with CCFL backlight has much improved, but at extra cost. I personally think Sony are not the force they once were, possibly why most of their servicing depts in Dublin now no longer exist with most repairs now outsourced.
