This has already been posted in Bargain Alerts but I'm posting it again here in case people dont always check there. Shop4memory have great prices on 120X compact flash cards http://www.pc-memory-upgrade.co.uk/s150506/ Dont mind that the link says its a UK company these are shop4memory in a different guise and shipping is free to Ireland. You have to order through that link to get the specials.

A little bit off-topic but . . I would be very careful with high capacity memory cards, had a scare there yesterday when a 5gb one would not upload to a card reader in windows or a microdrive on a windows laptop either. Windows just kept saying 'Do you want to format the drive' even though I could see them in the camera viewfinder. In the end managed to get them off the card in linux.

The first few worked fine transferring back and forward it was only after formatting in the camera and then using it for a day that the problem cropped up. Never had these problems with 1gb flash or microdrives before - so if anyones using a higher capacity one it may be worthwhile messing around with it for a bit before using it on anything important.

microdrives are a bit crap, moving parts in a card is not good! thankfully the solid states are a bit cheaper now,but i'd still rather have 5 1gb cards than one 5gb,pian in the hole scrolling through shots on massive cards!

I agree. 2Gb max, otherwise you are waiting for a disaster to happen. That said it coild happen with 2Gig too.

also 120x is complete overkill on a camera, a 40 x will be just as quick on a camera,

I can only echo what Valentia and Chity have said above. I'd rather have 5 1gb cards than 1 5gb. It's just asking for trouble.

That website really doesnt like firefox...

For cheap & reliable compact flash, you'll often get places like B&H doing great deals on various sizes of well known brands like Sandisk. I'd rather pay a bit more and get a card that I know isnt going to let me down. One of my sandisk cards has been through about 4 washing machine cycles (by accident of course). Every time I've been able to get the photos off it.
