In America at the moment! Want to buy a laptop. Built this one on dell and I think its a pretty sweet machine for what I want! Which is pretty much something that will run any game you put on it (within reason) I wouldn’t mind having to turn the settings down a bit for some games!

I have a $750 discount so it puts the price at $2,169.00

Remember its in Dollars which means about E1,692.95.

Take a look at the spec. Am I wasting my money and could I get something better somewhere else for less? The discount is pretty nice though!

You'll have absolutely no problem running any new game at high resolution with options on...

yeah i thought that too but my buddy has pretty much the same spec except for the cpu, his is the 1.83GHz, and he had to turn down his settings slightly for things like FarCry and FEAR. Only slightly though!

my new inspiron 6400 with the centrino duo 1.83ghz drops to 1.0ghz when on the battery.......well according to what i says in the BIOS anyway

Hmmmm. Didn’t even think about those power saving settings when unplugged! I'll investigate!

There's definately something wrong there! FEAR is a fairly demanding game, but should still fly on the above specs, but Far Cry is an aging game - it runs very well on even mediocre hardware by current standards.
