    Meh, its only application is piracy so hopefully they can detect it via Live.

    Any modification (except for the ones with switches, which appeared on the xbox in later years) will be spotted by Live, I'm sure the same applies to copied discs... was a great move tbh; if you want to get the full extent of a game like Halo 2, you'd better be legit :D

    Are the Hitachi drives more common? If one was to buy a new 360 whats the chances it'd have a toshiba/samsung drive..

    First batch shipped with hitachi afaik, thats what i have i think, ones in shops now have the different drive, and it's also quieter.

    Softmods are undectectable too, they are also free, easier to use, and safer tbh. I used a one of my boxes on live for 2+ years and softmod could never be detected-unlike my other box, which was chipped WITH an on off switch :rolleyes:
