    Home made, yes. Hand crafted? Yeah, I like to trail wires as well. And hammer baked-bean tins into fashionably shaped designs.

    The wood looks nice, though, unless that's a crack I can see. But unless it's fashioned from a fragment of the Cross of Jesus, I can't see it costing over a thou, even in dollars.

    Now, scholars disagree, but it is generally held that the cross of Jesus was made from pine, of which the stone pine (Pinus pinea) proliferated in the middle east about 2000 years ago and is still quite commonly found. The prototype body of the classic Fender Esquire, which became the Telecaster, was, indeed, made from pine, but this practice did not continue beyond 1951 ...
