Why include infantry?

Well i have been playing bf2 for over a week now and am very impressed, i think its a very solid game, but i have some major arguements.

I'm the kinda guy who likes stats etc and i like to see nice stats. But this gmae does not refelct accuratly player skills, heres some rubbish i have come into.

Jets, are jsut so stupid its not even funny. The only dmg they can be done by is other gets like, and most of the servers i play on our jet player is rubbish. Its a big gay having a jet cnstantly fly over spawn bombing you or jsut generally killing you.

I should point out i kinda stay on foot aslong as possible cause i think its fun.

Artillary, what is up with that like? I dont know how many times i can be so far from its landing zone and still die, i think its a bit stupid and it would be better left out. It achieves little.

Tanks. What must we do like, all play as anti tank? assault troops grenades bounce of them =/ they constantly rape ground troops. Then you have to find your own tank to cause dmg.

I think the game is basically just a war vehicle game, and there is little room for impact as a foot solider, which i think is much more fun then riding around in tanks.

Anyone else find the armour in this game ridiculous? or am i just not used to it, i jsut find it annoying dieing constantly to things i cant defend myself against.

Planes are grand altho there could be more AA vehicles\mounted on certain maps, kubra can be a massacre sometimes with planes. try playing BF2 before patch 1.2 when AA was'nt worth a dam. One big gripe, why on wake island when AA is most desperately needed against the J10's do they put a stupid tree almost directly in front of the sam site on the small island???

Tanks, theres too few of them, sure they're a bitch, but 2 things to keep in mind, their field of vision is'nt the best and if you get within 5 feet of them they're screwed. Spec ops are great for tanks. The only thing i would change is to give maybe 3 points for a tank\apc kill seeing as they are more difficult to pull off and an extra points might stop alot of the vehicle whores. get in practice against tanks, i'm pretty lethal with C4, learn how and when to hide and when sneak up. Get the dao-12 unlock for anti tank, and try and and hit the front or the back tracks on tanks.

Pick the right maps too, if you like infantry, i highly recommend the city maps, sharqui, karkand and mashtur, Karkand is great for taking tanks down and has some great infantry battles. Mashtur and sharqui have little armour and are great infantry, sniper, support maps, plus no jets.

personally i think its just because of the realsim, if u were in a real war and say theres ten of you together on foot and a tank comes along my money is on the tank:p

the jet thing you were on about is annoying too but u have to find places u can hide in shelter and still capture bases, or you need to improve your flying skills and get up yourself and take him out

adn as for artillery i know wat u mean u seem to be far away from where it hits but still get killed but thast wat it is for its not to shoot 1 bullet on one tiny spot the whole point of it is to spray a whole area to bits either to defend it or destroy enemy infantry to clear your path, usually u can hear it firing on most maps and theres a few seconds delay between firing and actually hitting u so you'll learn to dodge it a bit more with experience

As regards Tanks .....Aim low with Anti Tank weapon ie Track high and pref from behind .. Does more damage, I do agree with u on the Artillery , its lame , and more times than not u will get killed by ur own ppl

Anti Air is a bit weak ,I agree with An Capiallmor there , it has improved,
and it could be a little bit better, not too much We wouldnt want Air combat to be completly useless

I think after playing it for a while you will find that the game is fairly well balanced

Tanks add a challenge when you are a foot soldier but its so much fun facing one. I remember getting up close to one and he started to reverse and I also ran as well to stay by his side. He was always in a position that he couldn't actually hit me.

It took you a week and 4 years worth of info on the game to figure that out?
You can do damage to anyone else who isnt in a jet or tank.

Extra points for a tank kill would be nice. But again I dont really find them a problem. C4 if you can get in close otherwise some anti tank rockets. Problem is most people wont bother going anti tank.

Also I do agree plane's are still a pain in the bum, no idea how to fix that though perhaps a longer respawn time, or perhaps stronger AA missile locks..

I mostly play maps where plane's are non existant.

You either hit the tracks (not the armored bit above them) on the front or back and itll take 2 SRAW's/Eryx's or 1 TOW to destroy it.

i was playing yesterday on some server i hit a guy in a tank twice with my tank and b4 mine blew up, i jumped out and hit him twice with the eryx/sraw and he still dint die he had nobody repairing him adn no supply crate anywhere as there was no commander, i definetely hit hit all 4 times and he still didnt die and it seemed nobody could get him all round he really whooped everyone something like 40 odd kills and 1 death

can this happen? or is it a hax? everyone else on the server was tryin to kill him too so he was getting hit with sraws from all angles but nothing could stop him

Most probable cases why this happened would be in order of most likely hood:

1. He had another vehicle (or more than one) behind him with an engineer in it repairing him (this will be gone in 1.3 patch)
2. He had 2 engineers repairing him as standard infantry (would have had to be 2 by what you said you fired at him)
3. 2 supply crates near him, again same reason as engineers for 2.
4. He was h4xx0r1n6! (Least likely but could still be the case)


Whats your xfire m8 and ill go running about with you some night AT'ing it up and getting some revenge on tanks, they hate it when they get killed really quickly.

What do you mean by this will be gone? I thought I had read the patch notes but I didnt see anything in relation to this. Could you explain please.

That Engineer\supply crate in box thing really gets crazy at times, karkand drives me crazy where you've the 2 apcs, and tanks close together all with engineers and loads of crates around, almost indestructible. Took out all 3 with C4 twice, that was cool.

In all fairness if you want to complain about some try to spell correctly to people can interpret what your trying to say. If you can use a keyboard and you have the time to complain about something then surely you have time to learn to type correctly.

Thanks, that xfire looks sweet, currently my friends and I have been using Skype to talk to each other to join up etc but thats a pain in the bum because it kicks you out of the game everytime someone sends a message / rings you.

Ill try it out this weekend.

AH man your miles behind if you havent got xfire you can join each at teh click of a button as they said but u can also use it for voice comms, and send messages to each otehr

and u dont have to exit game to reply u just press scroll lock + x or watever u want to set it to and you can use it whilst in game

u can update and patch all your games thr u its file system, and its simple to use
