Hey I'm just after getting John Carew to strengthen my attack for portsmouth.
I was totally lacking any sort of height in the forward line and since Carew has come into the side he has been great with heading the ball on to defoe etc.

Anyway I'm just curious as to what people would have his role as at corner/free kick time.

Currently he is on the default of him standing at the far post.
I'm torn between having him challenge the keeper and have him attack from deep.

    Help appreciated regards.

I employ a specialist target man to flick on from the near post for inswinging corners with one or running at the back post. Works quite well if the corner taker is any good, and the target man gets a couple of assists out of it

Apparently the best thing to do at corners is to send everyone to the back post bar your best header of the ball (front post, flick ons) and your best long range shooter lurking just outside the box. Instruct the corner taker to send it to the edge of the area (or similar instruction) and it bags alot of goals.
