Always loved the view from the top floor, perfect symmetry only interrupted by the stairs from 1st to ground fllor.

Maybe I'm imagining it, but I could swear its actually not symetrical, it looks like theres more on the left...

EDIT: Yup, im almost certain you should have been standing three or four feet to the left when you took it.

I love the symmetry too, really nicely taken, as the loght in there can be really awkward.

i have some shots there too, (not great) taken at christmas 2 years ago, even the Christmas trees are symmetrical!!)

yeah you were standing more to the right, it's kinda distracting.

Also, I think if u had done for a vert. panorama. It may have been more effective. then again it's the upper half which is the symmetric part. Nice choice to shoot, not many ppl there.

Can't remember why, but I couldn't take it more to the left. I think there is a column, actually I think I was resting on it...

Tried the panorama, but didn't like the results. Looks unreal. I love the effect of the stairs crossing and breaking the symmetry.

I tried that same shot last christmas time and I couldnt get it lined up perfectly either. I think there is a column there alright or else a stall blocking where you'd need to be standing.

Apart from the whole 'it's not perfectly symmetrical' thing which to be honest doesn't bother me a huge amount, I like the stairs in the middle and how the bloke is the only person in the picture, it just adds something to the shot overall. What I would say though, is that the colour doesn't add anything and I think it would actually look better in b&w to enhance the patterns. I'd also have liked to see the full arch at the top at the front, it feels very abruptly cut off. I don't know if this is an equipment limitation or if it's something you did for a reason though?

B&W works really well on a big print. In a small size doesn't say that much but some might like it:

Showing more of the roof destroys the deepness of the photo, IMO.
