Single shot measure in Ireland is 35ml or 1/4 gill. In England it's 25ml (ish) or 1/6 gill.

yes i have been told that a measure here is 1/4 gill but a gill is 118.3 ml as far as i can see and so a quarter would be just under 30ml not 35, which is what the measures seem to be sold as

    a bit puzzled

Odd that. I think that Steveland may mean what's called a glass (two shots) as opposed to a 'half one' (one shot). Defers 35ml though.

O'Briens off license have a really cool little pourer, it works on a system with a ball bearing in it basically it looks like a normal cocktail pourer but it works as a measure, I find it great for not getting totally hammered when drinking spirits at home.
    I think they cost 6.99

35.5ml in Ireland or 25ml in UK.

Ah yes indeed... I was just thinking of how much is in a baby vodka/whiskey/gin which is 71ml (or I could be wrong...)
