I finally braved watching Matchpoint, well you certainly wouldn't have guessed it was a Woody Allen film, I thought it was wierd, for most of the movie I thought Scarleet was going to screw over Rhys and admit to being a gold digger, but then that didn't happen, I guess Rhys was the bigger gold diggerand what did happen, was sorta out of the blue, how was it that he could do that?

It seemed like somebodies first film, and didn't have his usual humour to save it.

I thought it was a very good film... and played out like a Dostoevsky novel.. which I guess is what Allen was aiming for.

There was a pretty lenghty thread about this film from a while back on it's cinema release if you do a search... It really seems to be love it or hate it type of movie.

I hated it, was unbearably boring until the last half hour when it picked up. It was just your average "cheating" movie for the most part which bored me to tears. Very poor movie

Watched it last night after much deliberation, heard some bad reviews and didn't want to ruin the image I have of Woody's earlier films. This was way below par for him IMO, acting seemed forced and the plot although unpredictable overall was still a bit obvious as the film went on and on and on. 10 minutes too long...

I did find certain parts enjoyable, so from a broad point of view I thought it was 'grand'. If it had been anyone else directing it I would have given them a clap on the back but with Woody I expected something better.
